United Nations Coordination Group - UNCG

Pursuant to the UN reform, the United Nations Public Information, Media and Communication Group has been established following the decision taken at the HoA's meeting held in August 22nd, 2006. The United Nations Communications Group (UNCG) will be a strong unifying platform for dealing with common communications challenges facing the United Nations. The UNCG will be the primary mechanism for developing and coordinating the implementation of a UN Communication Strategy in Pakistan.

Structure and Composition
The UNCG will comprise of UN PI/Media Officers and Programme Officers from all UN entities present in the country, i.e 20 members. The Co-chairs of the group will be the Head of UNIC and a Co-Chair from an Agency who will be rotated annually. The Communication Officer of UNRC's office will provide the secretariat support to the group. The Communication Officer will be responsible for providing technical support and the servicing of meetings of the UNCG as well as monitoring the implementation of the decisions of the UNCG.
