Health and Population

The overall vision for the Health and Population joint programme is based on a 'Health for All' approach. The selected areas of intervention represent thematic centers of attraction, which provided greater ease in conceptually organizing the joint programming in the Health & Population sector. Population issues are integrated in these five proposed joint programme components, as are issues relating to cross-cutting issues (gender, human rights, civil society participation and refugees). The UN agencies come together to work in the following areas of health & population:

  • MNCH and FP/RH in the context of PHC
  • Communicable Disease Control
  • Nutrition, Health Promotion
  • Health Systems Development
  • HIV and AIDS
  • Population Census
